2nd Anniversary Trip!

Rob and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary (wow-how can we have been married for that long?) with an AMAZING trip to St. Lucia! We stayed for 9 nights (yes, the longest vacation either one of us has ever had) at the luxurious Sandals Regency Hotel which was absolutely beautiful! We felt like we were on our second honeymoon, and I think we even acted that way too! :) We went snorkeling, played golf (there was a course on property), water skied, and did a lot of playing in the ocean! This was quite a treat for both of us! St. Lucia is an amazing island!

I love you Rob, and I'm so happy we have many more Anniversaries to celebrate together!

Greatest Spectacle in Racing

Also "The Largest Sporting Event on the Planet", and our Claim-to-Fame here in Indy... the Indianapolis 500! Rob and I made it to the track this year to watch the Race - and I will have to say, you don't have to be a racing fan to enjoy the Indy 500. It is quite an event! (well, it was yesterday)... I'm 29! Yikes! Where did my 20's go?? I can still remember my friend Sarah having an anxiety attack about turning 25! And we thought that was old! :)

Rob took me out to a new restaurant downtown and he gave me the new iPod Touch for my birthday. What a FUN present!!

I just LOVE birthdays... it is the only day that you don't have to share with anyone else! And you get to have birthday CAKE! That's the best part!

Fun Fact: I share my birthday with Oprah Winfrey!

Snow Day!

We got a foot of snow last night and I don't have to go to work! I think Indianapolis is cutting back on snow plows and salt in order to save money, so the roads aren't exactly clear! SNOW DAY!

To everyone who was curious if I had a new job... I do! I started the beginning of 2009 working for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I went a different direction in my career path, but I do think to work for the JDRF was the best decision I could have made. For those of you who don't know, my brother Scott was diagnosed at age 5 with Type I Diabetes, (also called juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes) which is a disorder of the body's immune system. By working for the JDRF, I get to help find and fund a CURE for diabetes and its complications. I get to work daily with people who are dedicated to a cause and work for an amazing organization!

CONGRATULATIONS to both of you and your new growing families! I wish I could be close to both of you and meet your little girls... I'm just waiting anxiously until I get to see them! Last weekend we had our first snow in Indiana (where it actually sticks!). You can see Rob shoveling our driveway - which he says is his "job" and I shouldn't have to do! Gotta love that! My theory about the winter is this: if it going to be cold outside, there might as well be snow on the ground!

I will have to say one of the best things about living in Indiana is the change of seasons, specifically the Fall! However, I raked leaves for 2 hours on Friday, and by the time Rob got home, it didn't look like I did anything! I won't complain though - you burn calories raking leaves, right!?

It is also so much fun to live in an older neighborhood where the trees are mature - our street rains leaves - it is such a beautiful sight! You really can't describe how vibrant the leaves are unless you experience them yourself!

Rob and I have started a tradition at Halloween of sitting in our front yard with our fire pit and giving out candy. We get to see all the kids on the street and all their costumes! Great fun :)

Mundtoberfest!!

I love having parties at our house, so Rob & I hosted "Mundtoberfest" the weekend before Halloween. We set up or fire pit in the back yard, and I served my infamous Texas Chili! (email me if you want the recipe!) Thanks to all of our good friends that came and shared the fall with us! We even had 2 little girls at our party - Sadie Foley (8 months) and Bridget Horton (1 year). I think they enjoyed the fire too!

We love all of our friends and are so happy you joined us!

Baby Showers in Texas (No, not for me!)

I have 2 very good friends that are both having baby girls in January 2009. I went to Texas to co-host showers for both of them. To Amy and Kristin: I am so overwhelmed with happiness for both of you. I can't wait to meet both of your little girls!

San Diego

Wow - I have not posted in so long! So sorry to all those who would like to see updates!

Our friends Amy Traunericht and Ray Cendana got married in San Diego on October 11th! Rob was an usher in the wedding and we went out a few days early for a little vacation and to see more of San Diegot!! We went to the USS Midway Museum (which made me think of my grandpa Gary who was a WWII pilot and POW), the San Diego Zoo (we spent 6 hours there and could have spend 3 days!), and saw the seals and cliffs at La Jolla. We had a such a wonderful time! Here are some pictures from the trip...

Oh... and thanks to Hotwire.com, we got stuck with an orange Suzuki Reno... has anyone actually heard of that car???

The USS Midway...We have headphones on because it was a walking tour...yes! we are nerds...

The San Diego Zoo, a MUST see for tourists to SD! We got an "inside" look at the Pandas (there are only 4 zoos in the US that have Pandas, and all are on loan from China)... one of the members of the wedding party worked with the Pandas at the Zoo! She gave us a tour of the Panda facility - it was great!

Rob had to take a picture with the plaque from the LILLY ENDOWMENT! (for all those who don't know - Rob works for Eli Lilly)

Torrey Pines... didn't get to golf, but did get some good souvenirs!

La Jolla... California is beautiful!!

Hey Chicago Whattaya Say...

This weekend Rob and I went up to the wonderful city of Chicago to watch the Cubs beat the Cardinals to win the National Central Division! For those who haven't ever been to Wrigley Field, it is truely an amazing experience. This is a video from the game - keep in mind this is after the game, and no one has left the stadium! Go Cubs Go!!

Our House...

I have had some requests that I post pictures of my house for those of you who are out of state and aren't able to visit! It is a beautiful, beginning-to-be-fall day in Indiana! We live in a neighborhood of Indianapolis called Broad Ripple, and we absolutely love it. I would say it very comparable to Lake Highlands in Dallas. Our house was built in 1950 but was completely redone by the former owner. It is just perfect for us!

Labor Day in Tyler

Rob and I visited my family in Tyler this Labor Day, for a fun-filled weekend and some R&R on the lake! We had a blast water skiing, jet skiing, and wakeboarding. Rob, Dad and Scott got in a little golf and mom and I got in a little shopping! Always a great time!

We went to Springfield, IL this past weekend for my cousin's wedding reception. My dad's side of the family is from there, and we had a great time catching up with my cousins! Everyone is getting so old! We did miss one of the cousins, Randy, who was at the time proposing to his girlfriend while they were in St. Louis. We now have 2 "cousin" weddings in Illinois in 2009 - Christina & Danny, and Randy & Erin. Looking forward to both of those weddings!
